The app takes advantage of browser-based telephony to enable you to set up and manage a call center without the need for hardware. Talkdesk offers common features such as caller ID, IVR, ACD, skills-based routing, waiting queues, transfer, and click-to-call.

These features are combined with more advanced monitoring and reporting features, such as call recordings and historical reporting, to ensure high quality calls and agent performance. Talkdesk also offers the ability to pull caller data from a large selection of 3rd party apps as well as populate these apps with call data from Talkdesk.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

Talkdesk was founded in 2011 by co-founders Tiago Paiva and Cristina Fonseca who built the first version of the app as a contest entry hosted by Twilio. Although it was founded in Portugal, the company is currently based in San Francisco. In 2014, it raised 3 million in funding and now has over 1,000 customers.
